Thanks to my friend Celise from Geeks Path 2 Beauty , I was able to learn about the Blue Velveteen Box. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on this box if you try looking it up. What it is, is a beauty subscription box that costs $10 dollars a month and offers random beauty products that have been hand-selected. It says it’s aimed more towards teens but I think most women can get something out of their boxes. Had my friend not mentioned this box, I don’t think I would have known it existed. Nevertheless, I think this box is not bad. I got some decent items this month.
Here’s what I received:
Sexy Bath and Body Lavender & Chamomile Calming Body Wash: This body wash is super calming. It smells of sweet Chamomile with a hint of Lavender and almost a hint vanilla. I’m not a huge fan of Lavender but I really enjoy the smell of this body wash. It lathers into bubbles which is nice, too and it’s very gentle.
Macadamia Natural Oil Nourishing Leave-In Cream: It’s a thick conditioner that leaves your hair feeling soft and healthy. It also tones down frizz and detangles. All you have to do is work it through towel dried hair and leave it in. I think it smells like Jelly Beans. Haha :)
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Powder- Pearl: This is a beautiful translucent powder with a light pink hue to it. It would work very well with lots of different eye shadows. It also has a bit of sparkle to it and it’s light enough to layer on top of other colors. What I love about loose powder eye shadows is that you don’t have to use much, and they last so long! :)
Ciate Mini Nail Polish Beads: I couldn’t find this online anywhere with the color I got. Basically, it looks like tiny little blue, silver and clear circular beads that you can add on top of your nail polish to add a 3d look.
Etude Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub: As you’d imagine, this is a baking powder scrub that exfoliates and cleanses skin. I thought this was great because it wasn’t harsh but was effective yet gentle.
I also received a small little blue velvet baggie which was cute. The only thing I didn’t like is that I wasn’t able to have a card to tell me what all everything was. Sometimes the products themselves don’t provide enough information on them so it’s great to have the information placed on a card so you can see detailed information on what you’re getting. Over-all this is not a bad box, but I will see what happens next month.
